The Divisional Officer in charge of New Oko-Oba Police station, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Alyu Kawunda has declared that criminals are enemies of the Nigeria Police Force.
CSP Aliyu Kawunda stated this during the division’s end-of-the-year get together and award organized to honor those who have been supporting the division in combating crime in the area.
CSP Aliyu Kawunda also used the occasion to warn criminals to stay away from the area as the Police will make the area very hot for them to operate or carry out their criminal activities.
The most outstanding awardee of the occasion, Alhaji Umar Usman the Branch Chairman of Motorcycle Operators Association of Lagos State (MOALS) Ojokoro branch IB who has supported the division in controlling the activities of commercial motorcycle operators in the area was honored with award of excellence for his unwavering support to the station.
Alhaji Umar Usman has once assisted the police to recovere one AK-47 riffle that was snatched from the police at Abattoir division when he single handedly chased the two Hausa guys to Ogere area along Lagos Ibadan expressway, arrested the duo and brought them back to Abattoir where the gun was recovered in a swampy area.
The Chairperson of the occasion Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Veronica Ameh Akpan thanked the DPO of the station CSP Aliyu Kawunda and his officers for a job well done in the past year and urged him to build on his past achievement.
In her goodwill message, the retired divisional crime officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Patience Nwangu thanked the DPO and other Officers of the station for the support she was given during her time as the DCO and urged the young officers to be dedicated to their duty.
