The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbado Police Command, CSP Adesanya Oyekanmi has said that he will continue to raid criminal hideouts in and around Agbado crossing not for money making but for sanity.
CSP Adesanya Oyekanmi stated this during a stakeholders meeting held at the station recently when one of the attendees asked why the police are raiding criminal hideouts, adding that he learnt that the police are raiding criminal hideouts because of bail money.
The grand patron of Agbado Police Public Relation Committee (PCRC) Alhaji Olowo thanked the DPO for organizing the meeting that involved all other sister agencies such as Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC, Trace Corps, Amotekun, So-Save Corps etc, adding that he should always call for this kind of get together so that the police and other stakeholders can brainstorm on security issues affecting the area.
“I want to thank you for putting together this gathering and you involved other security agencies. It is a welcome development and you should continue this way. We the community members will support you in areas of information because you and your officers will not perform magic,” he said.
The Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), Superintendent Lawal said the purpose of community policing is to prevent crime, adding that it is better to prevent than to manage crime and as such he urged members of the community to always come forward with useful information that can assist the police to perform better.
The Provost of the station advised members of the public to always control their anger because according to him anger is small madness and what one can destroy when angry at times may take a lifetime to repair.
In his closing remarks, the DPO thanked all the attendees for their presence despite the short notice, and reiterated his determination to get rid of all criminals around his jurisdiction.
