Labour Party passes vote of no confidence on INEC

The Director-General of Labour Party presidential campaign council, Akin Osuntokun, has said expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) in organizing the 2023 presidential and national assembly elections.

Osuntokun said the election was marred with many irregularities nationwide, coupled with a below par performance by INEC.

According to him, “when I consider the pedigree of people in INEC, I’m not surprised that they’re not performing up to expectation.”

Osuntokun queried why INEC didn’t upload election results to her servers immediately they were collated at polling units.

“We will wait and see the results INEC will upload and compare it with the ones in public custody from the polling units before we decide on our next line of action,” Osuntokun added.
