Okada, Benin Agog As International Students Film Festival ‘ISFF’ Kicks Off In Igbinedion University

The much anticipated International Students Film Festival ‘ISFF’ a brainchild of Africa’s most consistent filmmaker Dr. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen has kicked off at the prestigious premier University, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State in grandstyle.

It was an awesome evening, an evening of glitz and glamour; a night that a lot of movie enthusiasts, students and filmmakers will live to remember.

With an overflown hall of film enthusiasts, film students from different parts of Nigeria, Africa and other parts of the world; all gathered at the prestigious University celebrating, watching and relating with their role models; participating and learning from the leaders in the industry the art of becoming great film makers and actors; watching and beholding their dreams being fulfilled.

At the full capacity hall, Veterans like Chief Zeb Ejiro, (OON), who is the chairman board of the National Association of Movie Producers, the present president of the association Chief Dr. Queen Egbuson, the National Chairperson of Nigeria Film Festival Association and Vice President of the of Directors Guild of Nigeria, Mr uchena Agbo, Dr. Osaigbogovo Erhiamator, and filmmaker and a medical doctor,the first chairman Edo State chapter of Association of Movie Producers, founder of the Bayelsa International Film Festival Mr. Moses Etonzor.

Others in attendance included Mr Wendy Uwadai Imasuen, the producer of movie, Omogetto, she who must be obeyed ,Buka street and several others were all present to celebrate with these young movie enthusiasts.

Trill by the great prospect of the International initiative, the entire members of the management team of Igbinedion University were all seated at the official flagoff of the ISFF, which was led by the Vice Chancellor of the Igbinedion University, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye.

The highlight of the occasion included the investiture of Chief Zeb Ejiro (OON) as one of the grand patron of the Kanani International Students Film Festival ‘ISFF’ as well as the screening of the movie kenning by tola olatunji.

ISFF will be celebrating more legends and honoring prominent Nigerians who has given and are still giving to the society,the festival ends on Sunday 15th, with its award and closing ceremony holding on Saturday 14th October 2023 inside the main library Hall of the main campus , over 250 student made films were submitted from across the globe; including Nigeria, Ghana, Cameron, Kenya, Spain and many others.

Also, the management of ISFF has after a robust scrutiny selected four Jury Members who are Nollywood scholars and practitioners from various Institutions for the movies screening and judgment for various awards.
