The Ajilalaoso 2026 Planning Committee paid a courtesy visit to Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni as part of preparations for the forthcoming Ajilalaoso 2026 celebration.
The meeting centered on plans and strategies to ensure a successful and memorable cultural event that will further promote unity, tradition, and development across Edeland.
Speaking during the visit, former National Chairman of Ede Descendants Union, Mr. Basir Oyedemi, expressed appreciation to Yeyeluwa for her support and contributions towards the development of the union.

“We want to sincerely appreciate you. We thank you for the completion of our hall and for your generous gifts to the Ede Descendants Union. The hall has now taken a new shape, and we are truly grateful for your support and commitment to the progress of Ede,” Afolabi stated.
Chairman of the planning committee, Prince Adewale Laoye, also appealed for the support and participation of Yeyeluwa and her group towards the success of the festival. According to him, the celebration is aimed at promoting the glory and cultural heritage of Ede.
“We want your group’s presence and support. We are doing this for the glory of Ede,” he said.
Prince Laoye further disclosed that more than 37 clubs have already registered for the event, adding that the festival is designed to revitalize Oja Oje Olofi and boost community development through empowerment initiatives and cultural activities.
He noted that the committee had chosen Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni as the Mother of the Day for the event, stressing that the festival would also serve as an avenue to appreciate the Adeleke dynasty for its longstanding contributions to the growth and development of Ede.
“We want to use the festival to say thank you to the Adeleke dynasty because you are the foundation,” he added.
In her response, Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni appreciated the committee’s visit and commended the initiative behind the Ajilalaoso festival. She disclosed that she was amazed and delighted after watching videos from the previous edition of the event.
“I thank you for coming. I was shocked when I saw the video of Ajilalaoso last year, but I was happy to see it because we are using it to promote our cultural heritage,” she said.
She also appreciated the love, prayers, and support continually shown to Governor Ademola Adeleke, whom she described as the Asiwaju of Edeland.
“I thank you for the prayers, love, and support you have for your son, Asiwaju of Edeland, Governor Ademola Adeleke,” she added.
Yeyeluwa further assured the committee of her support and willingness to participate in the event, noting that the development and promotion of Ede remain important to her.
“I will try to be present. We love our town so much. I also want to thank the entire committee for their efforts towards making the festival a success,” she concluded.
Present at the meeting were members of the Ajilalaoso 2026 Planning Committee, representatives of FEYDA, representatives of the Ede Descendants Union, and members of the women’s wing of the union.
