Police Sergeant shot CDA Secretary dead in Delta State  Yusuf Muhammed 

The Delta State Police command has arrested one Sergeant Irimiya Iyas attached to the 57 MOPOL for killing the secretary of Ibiyima Community Development Association identified as Mr Uzuor Ezekiel in Asaba, Delta State.

 

At the time of the incident, Sergeant Irimiya Iyas was attached to the 57 MOPOL and was posted to CHAKEL BEAT Asaba, armed with an AK 47 rifle with Breech number 09331.

 

According to the Police, Sergeant Irimiya Iyas reported himself to the Agbor division that he accidentally shot one Mr Uzuor Ezekiel, the secretary of Ibiyima community development association, and upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer DPO and his officers rushed to the scene and took the victim to the general hospital where the Doctor on duty confirmed him dead.

 

Items recovered from the Sergeant include one AK 47 rifle with four rounds of ammunition. The Sergeant was immediately arrested for questioning.

Meanwhile the Police authority has promised to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that justice is served.
