For the umpteenth time, Nigeria sports administrators have come under the spotlight over their alleged unwholesome dealings that have continued to mitigate against the true development of sports in Nigeria.
In a recent interview published in the Sporting Sun Newspaper, the Chief Executive Officer of Monimitchelle Sports Facility Construction company, Ebi Egbe lambasted not a few Nigeria sports administrators, particularly, in the football system, for making themselves thin gods, even as they literally throw attempts by genuine professionals and technocrats to the trash, due to their blind acts of greed and self-aggrandizement.
“Sports administrators in Nigeria have turned contractors and are playing god with matters that are important to the development and growth of sports in Nigeria, Egbe said.
“Take a careful look at the awards of sports facilities contracts, you would see the poor and low standards of works being done by the so-called contractors. Unfortunately, the sports administrators themselves are the contractors.
“And because someone of my class, experience and pedigree would not agree to cut corners and do shady jobs with them because of the integrity of Monimitchelle Sports Company, they would resort to blackmail and acts of reputation damage.
“It is crystal clear that Monimitchelle Sports Company is highly regarded within and outside Nigeria, because of our professionalism and attentions to the minutest details on our jobs. We are unfazed,” he added.
The multiple awards winning facility construction expert went ahead to admonish the administrators to focus on their core duties and leave facilities construction experts to do their jobs.
