The Bitter Taste of Civilization: A Nation’s Downward Spiral By Zaka Khaliq Olaalekan

As a nation, we have made a conscious decision to indulge in the bitter aspects of civilization, forsaking our rich cultural heritage and ancestral roots. We have chosen to abandon our traditional values and embrace a foreign ideology, blindly following the path constructed by our colonial masters.

In doing so, we have become servants in our own fatherland, mere followers rather than leaders. We have mastered the art of memorizing the dictates of our colonial masters, often surpassing them in our zeal to conform.

This self-inflicted fate has led us down a journey of no return, as we watch our heritage crumble before our very eyes. Our once-cherished culture is fast degrading, our languages are becoming archaic, and our identity is eroding.

Language and culture are the very fabric of a nation’s identity. When these are lost, the nation itself is lost. We are witnessing this unfolding tragedy before our eyes, and yet, we seem powerless to stop it.

A nemesis awaits our future, a climax of chaos and destruction that our madness may unleash upon our nation. The question remains: who will save this sinking ship?

We must wake up to the reality of our situation and take collective action to reclaim our heritage, our culture, and our identity. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and our ancestors to preserve the essence of who we are as a nation.

The time to act is now. Will we rise to the challenge, or will we continue down the path of destruction? The choice is ours.
