Prince Ewenla Pledges Support for Oodua Republic

Yusuf Mohammed

Prince Adedipe Dauda Ewenla has said that he is in support of those clamouring for Oodua Republic because that is the only way the country’s insecurity issues can be addressed.

Prince Ewenla stated this in his office during a chat with our correspondence while comparing Sunday Igboho with the Aare Onakakafo of Yoruba land, Gani Adams. He said it is an insult for anyone to compare both of them because Gani Adams has been fighting for decades, adding that Sunday Igboho just came out recently to join the struggle.

When asked if he supports Sunday lgboho’s agitation, Ewenla said he did not support Sunday Igboho but rather Yoruba Nation. He said Gani Adams has always supported those that have been agitating for Yoruba Nation.

The business tycoon turn politician said he does not trust Sunday Igboho because during Alao Akala’s tenure as Oyo State Governor, “Igboho collected money from Tinubu and betrayed PDP and again

during Ife and Modakeke crisis, he also betrayed them by not showing up till we end the crisis.”

On the accusation that Gani Adams has kept mute since Fulani herdsmen have been killing and kidnapping in Southwest, he said those accusing Gani Adams are ignorant because it was the OPC led by Gani Adams that arrested Seriki Fulani at Igangan and handed him over to the police before the police later arrested the OPC members and charged them to court before they were released in June 2021.

He went further to say when Fulani men were causing problem at Shasha market in Ibadan, it was the same OPC members that went there to restore peace.

Prince Ewenla further accused the APC led Federal Government of inflicting pains on the masses as the prices of food stuffs have skyrocket, adding that there is

hunger and anger in the land.

“The APC Govenment led by Muhammadu Buhari has failed Nigerians because the prices of food stuffs have gone up and the masses are hungry and the same time angry. This is not the type of Government that we want.

“I will advice Sunday Igboho to stop insulting any leader in Yoruba land if he wants them to support him because he can’t do it alone; Ooni, Pastor Adeboye, Aare Ona kakanfo and Tinubu deserve to be respected.”

He also condemned the invasion of Sunday Igboho’s house by the DSS and demand the release of those arrested.
