Queen of Afro-pop, Yemi Alade is definitely a winner in her own right, despite not taking home the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance. She was nominated for her song “Tomorrow”, but ultimately lost to Tems’ “Love Me Jeje.”
However, Yemi Alade’s determination and perseverance are truly inspiring. She took to Instagram to declare herself a winner, saying “I’m here because I didn’t stop believing… I always counted myself in and surrounded myself with uplifters and truth tellers.”
It’s clear that Yemi Alade is a force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian music industry. Her nomination for the Grammy Award is a testament to her hard work and dedication to her craft. And with her latest release, “Key to your Heart”, she’s showing no signs of slowing down. So, even though she may not have won the Grammy, Yemi Alade is still a winner in our books!
