LGSC Commends Ikosi-Isheri Council Leadership

The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Engr. Abdul Fatai Oyesanya and the management of the council have been commended for embarking on the construction of a new office complex at the council secretariat and  giving approval for provision of one million naira on a monthly basis as financial assistance to cater for sundry staff issues.

The commendation was given on Thursday by Mr Babs Akinyanmi, a commissioner at the Local Government Service Commission when he led a five man delegation to the council secretariat. The visit was the second leg of the bi-annual tour embarked upon by the commission every year to all councils in Lagos State.

The five man delegation had on 25 July, 2019 embarked on the first leg of the tour. Mr Akinyanmi, the leader of the delegation submitted that they are impressed with the significant progress made by the council on the office complex project between July and November. He commended the council chairman for his determination to complete the project, adding that on completion, the new office complex will solve permanently the perennial problem of lack of adequate and decent office accommodation associated with the council.

He also commended the staff for their endurance, patience and sacrifice while assuring them that the council leadership would acquire new revenue buses to enhance the job of revenue officers after completion of the new office complex.

Mr Akinyanmi who is Commissioner 1 representing Badagry division at the LGSC reminded the staff about the need for them to ensure total compliance with the public service rules and financial guidelines as civil servants. He also advised them to prepare very well for their retirement, noting that it would be a big relief if they can become home owners before they retire. He advised the new staff to make effort to join cooperative societies as part of plans to save for rainy days.

He further urged the Heads of departments and units to carry along their subordinates in their day to day official activities while advising the subordinates to cooperate with their departmental and unit heads.
