Obasanjo Recalls Hosting Queen Elizabeth In Nigeria
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has opened up on hosting Queen Elizabeth II in Nigeria, a revelation that has set social media abuzz.
Obasanjo made the disclosure during an appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by content creator Isbae U.
The conversation started after Isbae U bragged about the international recognition his show has garnered.

In response, the former military Head of State fired back, stating that he had travelled to the United Kingdom long before the content creator was born.
“Me, I received Queen Elizabeth here in Nigeria. If I know Queen Elizabeth, who don’t you know?” he queried.
It would be recalled that Obasanjo hosted Queen Elizabeth II in Nigeria on December 3, 2003, during his civilian administration.
The late monarch arrived in Abuja for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, CHOGM, which Nigeria hosted from December 5 to 8, 2003.
The visit marked her first state visit to Nigeria since independence and her second overall, following her first tour in 1956.
Speaking after her death in September 2022, Obasanjo said he had tremendous respect for the late Queen and described his relationship with her as perfect.
He therefore noted that he was about to leave secondary school when the Queen first visited Nigeria in 1956, and was privileged to host her 47 years later as President in 2003.
