Comrade Ayeni Oluwaseun Samuel, the National Convener of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Crusade Organization (ABATCO) has denied speculations that their upcoming event slated for 1 October is designed to launch the 2023 presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The event is scheduled to hold on Independence Day at the Oshodi Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos and is aimed at holding a public lecture to discuss the struggle for True Federalism Perspectives Problems and Prospects.
In a statement, Ayeni said “Asiwaju Tinubu was not involved in the programme because it was put together by like-minds who believe in the ideology of Asiwaju BolaTinubu. The group is not a political associate of Asiwaju Tinubu and it has no hidden agenda for the 2023 presidential ambition of anyone.”
Ayeni noted that the group is not in any way associated with Asiwaju BolaTinubu’s ambition and that the former Lagos Governor has not in any way declare to run in 2023 for any post. “To clarify the issue, we are law abiding citizens; we would not do anything that contradicts electoral law and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The Constitution stipulates the time frame for declaration and campaigning. We just finished 2019 elections, and 2023 is far ahead, so we want the general public to jettison the rumours.
“We are friends and associates who come together to preach the ideology of Asiwaju Tinubu and to teach young generation of the need to follow the footsteps of Asiwaju Tinubu. In short, it is just to associate with him on ways of preaching political development, thereby deepen the dividends of democracy.”
