Solo Career Less Stressful Than P-Square Era – Rudeboy

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, better known as Rudeboy, has disclosed that moving into a solo career after the breakup of the defunct P-Square group was not challenging for him.

In a recent chat with Lun Lifestyle TV, Rudeboy stated that his responsibilities as a solo act have not really changed from what they were when he was still part of the duo.

He explained that while in P-Square, he handled songwriting, production and vocals, which made his transition to going solo quite easy.

The artiste added that working independently is far less stressful for him compared to being in a group.

According to him, “Transitioning into a solo artist was less stressful for me. Because it was the same me that was doing everything in the group, with due respect.

“I am the producer, writer, and singer. So, moving as a group, it is still the same thing. As I said, being a solo artist is less stressful. Inasmuch as I have a team, nobody is going to question me. I have more creative control. It is easy for me.”

P-Square, made up of Paul and his twin brother Peter Okoye, has split twice. The group first broke up in 2017 after disagreements that started in 2016, before reuniting in 2021. The brothers parted ways again in 2024.
