Davido Says Couples Should Keep Separate Accounts
Nigerian music star Davido has said he supports couples keeping separate bank accounts, emphasizing that both men and women should maintain personal finances for security.
Speaking on The Uncut Podcast recently, the singer was asked if women should have secret accounts away from their partners. He said he has no issue with it and believes the rule should apply to both sides.
“Yeah, I think it’s good. I actually think they should; you never know. If I ever found out that my wife had a secret bank account, I’d not be angry; I think everybody should have their own,” he said.
According to Davido, independent finances are important because the future is uncertain. He added that both men and women should be prepared and able to stand on their own if things change.
The singer therefore noted that personal financial independence helps relationships, while also maintained that everyone should have their own account, married or not.
