Newscarte is committed to publishing timely, accurate and responsible journalism. This policy explains the standards we apply to our news coverage.

Accuracy and Verification

We seek to verify significant factual claims before publication using appropriate sources, documents, direct observation or other reliable evidence. Breaking-news reports may be updated as new information becomes available.

Sources

We identify sources where doing so is appropriate and safe. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is important and the source has a credible basis for knowing it. We distinguish information supplied by third parties from facts independently established by our newsroom.

Original Reporting and Third-Party Material

Press releases, official statements and reports from other organisations may be used as source material, but we aim to provide appropriate context and clearly identify the origin of material. We do not knowingly present another publisher’s work as original Newscarte reporting.

News, Analysis and Opinion

News reporting is intended to present verified information fairly. Analysis and opinion are identified as such and should not be mistaken for straight news reporting.

Corrections and Updates

When we identify a material factual error, we correct it promptly and may add a clarification where useful. Readers can report suspected errors through our Contact Us page or by emailing newscarte03@gmail.com.

Conflicts and Commercial Content

Advertising, sponsored material and other commercial relationships should be distinguishable from editorial content. Commercial considerations should not determine the factual outcome of independent reporting.
