Kizz Daniel Reveals Why He Took Break From Music
Nigerian Afrobeats star, Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has revealed that he stepped away from music earlier this year following the death of his mother.
The singer clarified that his break was not due to work on a new album as speculated by fans.
Kizz Daniel, famously known as Vado D’ Great, made the disclosure on Friday while responding to a fan on X.

A fan with the handle @VicroyDominion1 had written, “I guess album really made you busy you had to pause for a while.”
Replying, the singer wrote, “I paused for my Mom not an album … Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family … sorry I came late this year.”
His revelation has since drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans and well-wishers.
“Sending love your way. Big Vado, Mummy is sick; I pray I don’t lose her. She’s all i got. I dey imagine how you go dey feel omo love and light your way vadoo,” @mynameisnottobi wrote.
Another user, @Segunthomas9, commented, “May her soul rest in peace, mother’s love is the best.”
“Damn, that must be tough. May her soul rest in peace,” @rhidozi_ added.
Also reacting, @faajikorrect wrote, “So so sorry man, may mummy soul rest in peace with the LORD. Amen.”
The ‘Buga’ crooner has in the past opened up about personal tragedies, including losing his father in 2015 and one of his triplets in 2021.
In a 2025 interview, he also disclosed that his wife lost her mother in 2024, a loss that inspired his emotional song ‘Al-Jannah’.
