Tacha Urges BBNaija Organisers To Pause Show And Re-Strategise

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has advised organisers of the reality show to take a break and come up with fresh concepts to win back viewers’ attention.

Tacha made the suggestion during a recent interview where she spoke about how social media has changed the way people consume entertainment.

According to the reality TV star, online discussions and controversies now compete heavily with television shows for audience attention, making it important for BBNaija to review its format.

“I think they need to take a break, restrategise and just come up with something because we are really at an era where everything happens on social media,” she said.

To buttress her point, Tacha cited the public interest in the ongoing family dispute involving music duo P-Square, noting that such social media trends can sometimes overshadow activities inside the BBNaija house.

“You don’t want us watching housemates in the house, meanwhile P-Square is giving us part seven of his family issues… we have come to a point where everyone is so comfortable with social media right now,” she added.

The former housemate also suggested that a temporary break would give Nigerians time to miss the show and build anticipation for its return.

She urged the organisers to be more creative and deliver more compelling content that meets the expectations of today’s audience.

“They need to cook, like they need to try to do something different which will be much more mind-blowing and more interesting to Nigerians because Nigerians are hard to please,” she said.

Tacha rose to fame during the 2019 Pepper Dem edition of BBNaija before being disqualified after an altercation with fellow housemate Mercy Eke.

Meanwhile, her remarks have reignited conversations on how reality TV shows can stay relevant in an era dominated by social media trends.
