The forthcoming album will be his first in six years, coming after his eighth studio album, ‘Warriors,’ which was released in 2020.

2Baba has been teasing the project for some time, repeatedly using its title in his Instagram captions.

Back in August, he wrote on his page: “I’ve lived it, I’ve seen it, I’m still here. My new album, Oldest Young Man, soon come.” On his birthday, he also referred to himself as “forever the oldest young man.”

The singer first gained prominence in the 1990s, composing jingles before co-founding the iconic group Plantashun Boiz with Blackface and Faze in 1996.

Since then, he has established himself as one of Afropop’s pioneers, influencing generations of artistes.

Over the years, he has released eight studio albums, starting with his debut, ‘Face 2 Face’ in 2004.

2Baba’s studio albums:

  • Face 2 Face (2004)

  • Grass 2 Grace (2006)

  • The Unstoppable (2009)
  • The Unstoppable International Edition (2010)
  • Away and Beyond (2012)
  • The Ascension (2014)
  • Rewind, Select, Update (2015)
  • Warriors (2020)

Despite the six-year album break, he remained active, dropping singles and collaborations including ‘Balling’, ‘Kuku Google Am’, and most recently, ‘Mental’ featuring Fave.
