Peace Deal Reached In Toluwanisings Burial Dispute As Family, Associates Sign Undertaking With Police

The burial controversy surrounding late gospel singer, Toluwanisings, appears to have been settled after his wife, father and associates signed a peace undertaking with the Oyo State Police Command.

The agreement was reached just two days after the singer’s widow, Damilola Olayemi, reportedly reached an understanding with her father-in-law to lay the musician to rest at their Ibadan home.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, the police disclosed that all parties involved in the disagreement had committed to peace in order to prevent the matter from escalating further.

According to the statement, the State Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, summoned the parties after reports emerged about a rift between the family and associates of the deceased over burial plans — a dispute that had already triggered tension and heated exchanges on social media.

During the meeting, the parties resolved to stop any action capable of heightening tension over the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death. They also agreed to discontinue further public discussions and interviews on the dispute through any platform.

Those who signed the undertaking are the singer’s widow, Damilola Olayemi; his father, Muniru Olayemi; his uncle, Lawal Ademola Rafiu; his personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo; and his associate, Oyindamola Esther.

It would be recalled that Toluwanisings collapsed and died at his residence on October 14, 2026, with the circumstances of his sudden passing continuing to generate public concern and questions.
