Nigeria’s veteran actress, Halima Abubakar, has received a special recognition award in Ghana.
Halima was among the outstanding global entertainers honoured at the Ghana Arts and Entertainment Awards last week. The event was held at Milky Hotel, Accra, Ghana.
The award organizers disclosed that for many years, they had been monitoring Halima’s consistent positive impact on the society, a feat that earned her the honorary award.
Recently, the multi-talented actress signed three ambassadors to her Habibuluxury fashion outfit. The ambassadors are Uche Ogbodo, Ruggedman and Queeneth Agbor.
It was an unprecedented endorsement, as it was rare for an entertainer to appoint fellow entertainers as ambassadors.
Habibi Luxury Items is a store that deals in all kinds of jewelry, hairs and luxury items. The store was opened on June 12, which also coincides with her birthday.
For many years, the proud Kogi State indigene has been putting smile on the faces of the less privileged persons in the society under the auspices of her Halima Abubakar Foundation.
The foundation has been saddled with the responsibility of providing free food for children in rural areas from the actress’s farm produce. Hundreds of children have been fed from this charity project over the years.
Halima Abubakar has also been an ambassador for good hygiene in children. She has been sensitizing the girl and boy child, talking about how to take care of the human body from the child perspective.
