Breaking News: Deadly Fire Decimates Bangkok Nightclub, Claiming 28 Lives
A catastrophic blaze ripped through a popular Bangkok establishment late Sunday night, leaving at least 28 people dead and 25 others fighting for their lives in critical condition.
The inferno reportedly erupted near the stage of the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao bar, located in the bustling Chatuchak district. According to eyewitnesses, the flames spread with terrifying speed, immediately knocking out power and filling the venue with thick, suffocating smoke.
Distressing footage circulating online captured the chaos as panicked patrons fled the venue, screaming for help—some with their clothing ablaze as they rushed through the fire-engulfed main exit.

By Monday evening, authorities confirmed that the tragedy had claimed 28 lives and left 71 others injured. Among the survivors, 25 remain in critical condition fighting for their lives, while 14 suffered moderate injuries and 32 sustained minor injuries.
While an official cause has yet to be determined, a preliminary assessment by Bangkok’s disaster mitigation department points to a potential electrical short circuit in an air conditioning unit.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who inspected the devastation early Monday, shared insights from a musician performing at the time.
The performer noted hearing a sudden blast, followed by an immediate rush to escape the rapidly advancing smoke.
This disaster reignites fierce criticism over Thailand’s entertainment safety protocols. Despite repeated government pledges to overhaul fire regulations following past tragedies, critics argue that enforcement remains dangerously lax.
