Today, we are casting a searchlight on entrepreneurs charting a new territory in Ogun State and we turn our focus to Abiodun Sijuade, the founder and product lead of Exambeta, a firm curating opportunities for talented young Nigerians to study pathways and other opportunities abroad and building bilateral partnership for academic exchange to help lower-income students take advantage of initiatives abroad headquartered in Abeokuta with offices in Sagamu and Ibadan.
He is also the founder of Betaprep Africa, an edtech company whose mission is to use technology, media and teaching to improve learning experiences for standardized testing candidates.
According to him, his story started around the middle of 2018, when an experience with a client of his former workplace who was pursuing admission into a university in the U.S made him realise he could start out his own firm in providing such services and more – using software to help reduce the costs of delivery and increase the quality of learning experiences available, especially to prospects. He founded Exambeta in late 2019, backed by personal savings just enough to secure rent for one year, started operations in Itoku, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Exambeta and Betaprep Africa have in their missions and visions, one underlying central mandate – to eliminate the deficits between Nigerian and later, African students who want to pursue tertiary education abroad but are often consistently denied due to differences in curriculum training, language, funding, information and testing requirements. If Exambeta is the physical, inhouse training and teaching arm, Betaprep is the online, software-based arm providing strategy and paths; combining to ensure that in 2021, just after the pandemic, more than 25 persons were able to secure prestigious admissions placements in the U.S, U.K & Canada, with that figure set to multiply as he prepares to launch the BetaPrep Interactive Virtual Learning (IVL) mobile app, later this year.
Sijuade’s dedication to providing top-notch consulting services has set him apart as a leader in the field, and his passion for helping students navigate the complexities of studying overseas has made him a trusted resource for many aspiring scholars. As he continues to pursue his education with an MBA in view and expand his business ventures, Sijuade remains committed to his mission of making quality education accessible to all. His innovative approach and unwavering commitment to excellence have made him a standout figure in the world of international education consultancy – much needed addition to the entrepreneurship arena in Ogun State and Nigeria and perhaps he may open to achieving some of these objectives through smart and updated legislation, such as seeking political office that can give him more avenue to serve his constituents what is called the good dividends of democracy and thereby making sure SDG4 (Quality Education) cuts across the segmented rural regions.
