Famous Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he sought advice from colleagues Wizkid and Wande Coal on how to balance music and education at the start of his career.

Speaking further, he said he knew his father would not permit him to abandon his education for music, but everything changed after his hit song ‘Dami Duro’ blew up.

“I asked Wizkid and Wande Coal how they left school to do music. They told me the only way was to blow up. I knew my dad wouldn’t allow me, but when ‘Dami Duro’ blew up, I couldn’t continue,” he noted.

The singer later struck a deal with his father to return to school in exchange for a recording studio and full permission to pursue music.

Meanwhile he subsequently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Babcock University in 2015.
