Davido Says He Will Quit Music Soon To “Go Make Billions”
Afrobeats star Davido has hinted that he is planning to step away from music to focus on building wealth.
The comment came after he replied to a post by Nigerian rapper Erigga on X.
Erigga has praised artists who did not have rich backgrounds and has to hustle for every dollar.

“Shout to all the musicians who don’t come from family money and had to grind for every single dollar they earn,” he stated.
Davido pushed back, arguing that coming from a wealthy home does not mean you cannot also put in the work.
“No be we say make your pops no get money o. Shout to the ones that came from family money and still grind to the top,” he replied.
The singer further dismissed Erigga’s post as “useless motivation” and called him an “imbecile.”
Davido then revealed his own plan to leave the music scene for bigger financial pursuits.
“No worry o I go soon leave their music for una go make my billions… then that shit gonna be boring AF,” he wrote.
He wrapped up the exchange with a question about poverty.
“Deep down, who like poverty?”
