Nigerian reality star and comedian DeeOne has criticised gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori for apologising to Nigerians over her comments on insecurity crisis ravaging the country.

It was gathered that the singer, during a live prayer session, claimed the Nigerian government was working on security and pleaded by advising  the general public to pray for President Bola Tinubu and security agencies.

Alaseyori made the statement while reacting to public outcry over the abduction of several school children and teachers in Oyo State.

Following backlash on the social media and public space, the prominent singer released a video on yesterday (Wednesday) tendering a public apology to Nigerians.

Responding to her apology, Comedian DeeOne argued that Alaseyori made the remarks while “in the spirit” and faulted her for doubting God’s leading.

“I want to believe that it was God that was speaking through you, but you lost an opportunity to evangelise the world,” he said.

DeeOne insisted the apology was made under pressure stating that, “Na pressure makes you go do that thing. You apologize because people were dragging you,” adding that the singer chose to “displease God to please men” because of the backlash.

“You did not seek the face of God before you made that apology video,” DeeOne continued.

“Maybe you are looking at it that they no go call you again for events or people would not like you. The Bible says I would look up to the hills, from where my help comes from. No be all of us wey dey drag go feed you,” he lamented.

He therefore urged Alaseyori to return to God if in doubt, reminding her: “You’re a minister of God and not just an entertainer.”
