Versatile highlife and gospel musician, Akin Fasipe, otherwise known as Akinslavia, has said that Nigerian government needs to live up to its billings after its inefficiencies were exposed by the EndSars protests.
The lead vocalist of Harkyn and De Gang Band reiterated that the protests, which lasted about three weeks with lives and monuments lost is a wake up call to the government.
“The protests exposed a lot about our government’s excesses and their lack of coordination and accountability,” he said.
Akinslavia argues that with the level of coordination showed by youths during the peaceful protests, “There should be end to bad governance and the youth should be allowed to rule.”
However, he condemned how the hitherto peaceful protests were hijacked by hoodlums, but swiftly pointed out that the government’s nonchalant attitude worsened the situation.
Akinslavia, who is still basking in the euphoria of the success recorded by his debut album ‘Able God’ released earlier this year, is currently in the studio cooking something new.
