ErukuCity Unveils ‘Ologbo Dudu Eti-Aja’ Security Outfit to Tackle Banditry
Bandits in ErukuCity, Kwara South, may soon face tougher resistance as Jacob Ayodele, the Akogun 1 of ErukuCity, established a new local security group named Ologbo Dudu Eti-Aja Security Warriors.
Insecurity has become a daily reality for many Nigerians, especially in Kwara South. For decades, communities have lived with fear as government efforts to end kidnapping and banditry continue to fall short.
ErukuCity was once known for its security. In the past, local hunters relied on courage and traditional protection to keep bandits away, earning the town a reputation captured in the saying O’gboju Ode Eruku bi Ekun’ meaning the fearless hunters of Eruku like the tiger.

“We are not against government security agencies,” Jacob Ayodele told Bethnews Media.
“But our warriors know this forest. They grew up here. They can track routes and terrains that outsiders cannot. That local knowledge is what we’re bringing to support overall security.”
The Ologbo Dudu Eti-Aja Security Warriors is now a registered community outfit, established with backing from local authorities. Jacob Ayodele, as Akogun 1 of ErukuCity, leads the initiative, which joins a wave of grassroots security groups forming nationwide.
The group will work alongside existing vigilantes, hunters, and forest guards. But unlike conventional outfits, Akogun 1 said the warriors will lean heavily on ancestral knowledge and traditional protection methods.
“We are reviving what our fathers used to defend this land,” he emphasized.
Speaking by phone with the publisher of Bethnews Media, Ayodele stressed the group’s commitment, stressing that, “We are dedicating ourselves, day and night, to the safety of every son and daughter of ErukuCity. Our people must feel safe again.”
On the question of arms, he was clear and concise, saying that, “We are not waiting for government weapons. The Ologbo Dudu Eti-Aja warriors will rely on the same traditional practices our great warlords used. That is our strength.”
Ayodele noted that the Owa of ErukuCity, Oba Busari Amulududoye I, supported the formation of the group due to rising concerns about safety.
He called on Eruku descendants worldwide to stay calm and plan visits home without fear of abduction.
“Come back to your ancestral land. We are standing guard,” he said, urging continued prayers and support from indigenes.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the Ologbo Dudu Eti-Aja Security Warriors will be formally unveiled soon in order to combat the insecurity crisis ravaging the country.
