
Foundation Presents WAEC Scholarships to Students in Ondo

An organisation concerned with education development in Ondo state, the Otunba Yomi Akingbade Foundation, has disbursed WAEC scholarships to five students from Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure Ondo State.
The beneficiaries are Ogunsusi Korede David(M), Oluwasegun imole Daniel(M),
Ibitoye Segun Joshua(M),
Aderinto Erimipe Favour(M) and
Olatide Nifemi Favour(M).
Speaking virtually during the presentation, the founder, Otunba Yomi Akingbade, who attended Oyemekun Grammar School many years ago said that the foundation may also provide free JAMB forms and fund tertiary education for the beneficiaries if they become successful in all their qualifying exams.
The founder, who highlighted the strides of the foundation in education, agriculture, health and youth empowerment, among other areas revealed the rationale behind the scholarship, describing it as his passion for humanity and community development and a way to give back to society.
According to him, the community should expect more from the foundation as far as development is concerned.
The disbursement ceremony which was held in Oyemekun Grammar School premises, witnessed an impressive turnout of students, parents and guests, who were thrilled by a host of educative and inspiring programmes at the event.
Responding to the kind gesture, the principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Mr Adeniyi Oluyide thanked the foundation.
The principal also solicited more support that will enable the school to compete among its contemporaries globally.
The recipients, parents and school teachers were full of appreciation for the WAEC scholarship from the foundation.
