Arekhandi Emerges Highest Goalscorer, As BSFA Mock W/Cup Ends

Denning Arekhandi was the poster boy at the just concluded Bright Stars Football Academy, BSFA which held at the First Bank Sports Complex, Satellite Town, Lagos State. Arekhandi’s 12 goals in the U-8 category for France couldn’t help his team win, as they were beaten by eventual winners, Brazil 2-2 in the keenly contested final match.

Second on the goalscorer’s chart was Deola Ibojo, who grabbed five goals. There was a joint tie in the third position, with Oscar Olovo, Zikora and Onyeka with three goals each.

Father of the top scorer, Zebedee Arekhandi Esq expressed joy with the performance of his child adding that he never knew Denning was that gifted. An elated Arekhandi, who spoke with the Academy’s Media Channel shortly after the game tasked the coaching crew to do more in ensuring that the children under them are top-notch even with their studies.

In the U-17 cadre Argentina pipped Qatar 3-2 on penalties after hostilities ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Meanwhile, Management of the Academy revealed that the awards ceremony will hold early this year. President of the Academy, Franklin Ibojo disclosed this in a chat with the Academy’s Media Channel. He noted that there is need to reward those, who performed exceeding.
He also promised the players more friendly games in year 2023.
