Funke Akindele Backs Kamo State Amid Rift Rumours
Popular Nollywood star Funke Akindele has shown support for Kamo State’s debut cinema film ‘Starlomo’, days after her absence from its premiere fueled speculations of a fallout between the duo.
Kamo, who regards Akindele as his mentor, had in May described their relationship as a divine blessing and a turning point in his career.
Akindele’s absence from the film’s Lagos premiere on September 20 had sparked rumours of a rift on social media.

Kamo, however, debunked the claims, explaining that the filmmaker was out of the country at the time.
“I woke up to see different opinions online about Iyamii and myself. Please we’re on good terms. She missed my premiere simply because she wasn’t in the country and nothing more to it, so please don’t assume otherwise,” he clarified.
Yesterday, Akindele put the rumours to rest after she took to X to congratulate Kamo and filmmaker Kayode Kasum, urging fans to see the movie.
“STARLOMO… Let’s go see a good movie this weekend. Congratulations @kamo_state @kayodekasum. I wish you all the best at the box office,” she stated.
Appreciating her, Kamo replied, “Iyami Da? Iyami Re ooo, Thank you for supporting me always ma, I’m grateful mama.”
