“I Left Due To Violence” says Akin Olaiya’s Wife
The newly wedded wife of Nollywood actor Akin Olaiya, Nafisat, has accused him of domestic violence while confirming the end of their marriage.
She made the claims in a viral video shared online today, after a statement announcing their divorce from Olaiya surfaced online on Monday.
According to Olaiya’s controversial statement, Nafisat left their matrimonial home without his knowledge and efforts to reconcile failed.

But in her response, Nafisat said she walked out a few months into the marriage because of abuse and mistreatment.
“Last few months, I left my marriage because I’m in pain, I’m mistreated. I feel like I did not matter. And nobody is going to stay in a marital home that goes with violence,” she said.
She confirmed the divorce reports, stating they have been separated since last year.
“All the things that they’re talking on social media about the divorce letter, yeah for real, me and my husband are not together anymore for like a long time ago, since last year.”
Nafisat pushed back on Olaiya’s claim that she left without reason.
“For those of you saying how can the wife just pack and leave when she’s not mad? When there’s violence and something is really going on that you don’t really know about,” she stressed.
She added that she expected more from him due to their age gap noting that, “I’m expecting a lot from my ex-husband when I was with him because he’s older than me. The age gap is much.”
While refusing to share full details, she insisted there were serious issues. “Yet everything was going down, and I can never come out to disclose the main issues in my marriage with him. That is what I can never do on social media.”
“But what I’m trying to let you know is that it does not make sense for him to say she just packed her things and left without any issues. It can’t be possible. You guys should just think about it and see if it makes sense,” she said.
