Ojodu Old Students Elect New Officers

As Nigerians in Kogi and Bayelsa States were busy with their respective governorship elections on Saturday, 16 November, 2019, members of the Ojodu Grammar School/Babs Fafunwa Old Students Association were also busy voting for new executives that will paddle the affairs of the association for the next three years.
During the keenly contested election, Mr Austin Ejuetami emerged the National President, while Engineer Akinbo Adebambo, Mr Wale Lawal and Mr Jooda Jimoh were elected as First Vice President, Second Vice President and Third Vice President respectively.
Other elected officers are: Barrister Anthony Esan –General Secretary, Mrs Kehinde Odulaja –Assistant General Secretary, Mr Chibuzor Onyilimba –Financial Secretary, Madam Omobola Akeju –Social Secretary/Welfare and Mr Pitan Adewale as the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.).
The immediate past National President of the association, Chief (Mrs) Kehinde Orejoko, expressed optimism that the newly elected executives will continue the good work of moving the Alma Mater to the next level from where her administration stopped.
“We will continue to support them morally, financially and spiritually. I have no doubt that they will continue the good work as we exchange the baton of leadership. I wish them all the best,” Chief Orejoko assured.
In his own words, the Chairman, Interim Committee, Hon. Taoreed Akorede Odubiyi echoed that “We give God the glory for the success of the much anticipated election. It was one of the responsibilities this committee was saddled with, and we thank it has come to fruition. Most importantly, I have absolute confidence in the abilities of our newly elected officers in the quest to move our Alma Mater to the desired next level.”
Meanwhile, the official swearing-in and end-of-the-year party of the association is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 15 December, 2019 at a yet to be announced venue.
