Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife commissioned the Odo-Ogbe road, Oja Tuntun, Ile-Ife donated by the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Senator Babajide Omoworare on Sunday.
The more than 500 meters road which was personally financed by Senator Omoworare is described by Ooni Ogunwusi as a strategic infrastructural development. While speaking at the event, the traditional ruler urged all Ife sons and daughters to emulate Omoworare as such gesture will elicit rapid development.
“I am happy with you Senator, this is laudable and all others should emulate this gesture in their individual localities. If this is done, Ile-Ife will experience rapid transformation. I’m imploring all politicians to make community development a priority rather than sharing money during elections. When you serve the people, they will appreciate you with their votes. You have done this Senator, we are all seeing it,” Ooni said.
The leading Yoruba traditional ruler equally called on the government at all levels to work towards infrastructural development, especially on roads. He lamented the deplorable situation of roads in Ile-Ife.
While speaking, Senator Omoworare informed the gathering of other development projects and resumption of works on abandoned projects such as the Mayfair, Iremo, Moore, Ilesha Garrage to Osu dualisation, Ezekiah Oluwasami Road, Naval Communication School and the Ife Water Dam among others.
In his speech, Omoworare thanked the Ooni of Ife, his chiefs and the entire traditional institutions for the honour of making time out of their tight schedule for the road commissioning.
He equally appreciated the Ile-Ife community and the political class for the huge turnout and assured them of his commitment to services that will benefit the people.
