Top Unionist Dare Durosimi Set To Launch A New Book, Workers’ Interest and Organizational Survival

Lagos-born seasoned advertising practitioner, Dare Duronsimi, plies his trade as the man who directs the affairs of the marketing department of the popular broadcast medium, Traffic Radio. Beyond his longtime illustrious and excellent delivery in his primary constituency, Dare also proudly wears the title of a Comrade on account of his laudable participation in the campaign to make life better for the Nigerian workers, as well as resisting oppression through unionism. As a matter of fact, his valuable contributions have earned him leadership positions at various times in that respect, even as he currently serves as the National Vice President of RATTAWU in the South West Zone.
Not resting on the hoarseness of his laudable contributions but matching on to imparting unionism in better ways, Comrade Durosimi has just authored a book in which he harmonizes the interests of the workers and those of the establishment. The book is titled Workers’ Interest and Organizational Survival. The book delves into the core and contemporary responsibilities of trade unions, including their future in Nigeria. It also addresses the topical issues in the labor movement just as it offers practical solutions, drawing from real-life experiences and scenarios to illuminate new concepts in the trade union administration and lots more.
Meanwhile, all roads will on August 30, 2024, lead to Osun Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where the book is slated to be launched amid pomp, even as notable unionists, dignitaries, and other well-meaning individuals are expected to grace the event.
Comrade Dare Durosimi is a seasoned advertising practitioner with over two decades of experience in the Nigerian broadcast industry. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration from Yaba College of Technology, a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSC) in the same discipline from the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG), and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Also, he’s armed with a certificate in basic journalism from the National Broadcasting Academy. He’s also a member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
As a unionist, Comrade Durosimi, in his over two decades of involvement in labor-related matters, has served as a member of the Lagos State Joint Negotiation Council (JNC) and chairman of the Publicity Committee of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Lagos State. He’s served as two-term chairman of the Lagos State Radio Television Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU). He currently serves as the National Vice President of RATTAWU in the South-West Zone. The amiable Comrade is also the publisher of MMG Media magazine, as he is also the founder of Dare Durosimi Initiatives (DDi), a non-governmental organization supporting the Nigerian media and cultural sectors to enhance workplace productivity.
