Tyla Prays For Unified Africa Amid Backlash
South African music star Tyla has called for a united continent.
This comes weeks after she faced heavy criticism for not speaking out against xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
It was gathered that several Nigerians, including celebrities, campaigned against Tyla’s planned show in Lagos. They accused her of staying silent on attacks targeting foreigners in South Africa.

Following the backlash, the singer cancelled her Lagos concert.
However, speaking at the South African Music Awards over the weekend, Tyla addressed the issue.
In a trending video, she said that, “And I am just so happy to be South African. I’m happy to be African most of all.”
She therefore opined that, “I pray one day to see a unified Africa. It’s so important.”
