Chiwetalu Agu Cautions Against Comparing Your Life With Others
Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has advised against comparing one’s life with that of others, noting that people often covet what others have without knowing the battles behind their wealth, fame or relationships.
This was disclosed in a post shared on his social media page, highlighting what he described as the ironies of life.
According to him, “The poor wants money, while the rich want peace. The young want to grow up, while the old wish they could be young again. Those who have little want more, while those who have much, sometimes wish they needed less.”

He continued, “The married long for freedom, while the single long for love. The unknown want fame, while the famous longs for privacy. The unemployed wants to work, while the employed wish they have fewer responsibilities. The broken wants to heal, while those who are hurting longs for happiness.”
Agu urged people to be grateful for what they have instead of dwelling on what they lack.
“The truth is you can’t have it all, be happy with what you have and never take anything for granted,” he said.
The veteran actor also warned against judging one’s life based on another person’s material possessions or public image, stressing that many are unaware of the private struggles others endure.
“The grass is always greener on the other side until you discover what it takes to keep it green, someone may have the money you desire but lack the peace you enjoy,” he wrote.
He added, “A healthy person has a thousand wishes but a sick person has only one.”
Agu further encouraged people to cherish their own journey and stop measuring their lives against others.
