Astute sports administrator, Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi has been appointed as chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation which was confirmed by a letter on the 2oth of October 2022.
In an official letter made available by the NFF president, he was appointed as chairman of the NFF task force on Youth Competition ( U23, U20, and U17 National Teams) as approved by the Executive Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation.
According to NFF, his assignment is to garner public and private sector for the youth National Teams, for their camping, friendly games, qualifying matches, and participation in international competitions.
His appointment according to NFF is due to the high confidence they repose in his person and capability.
Of a truth, his appointment is justified because the story of Nigeria Football cannot be completed without a mention of Alhaji Aminu Kurfi Balele whose records on and off the pitch have gradually dwarfed the achievements of many who have spent over two decades in the corridor of Football with virtually nothing to show for it.
As Senior special adviser to the former governor of Katsina state, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, Balele who was also a former chairman of Katsina United, was the brain behind the rising profile of Katsina United as one of the emerging superpowers of Nigeria Football.
His deep administrative maneuvering around the Football circle helped to life the Changi boys from their comfort zone in the NNL to the Nigeria Professional Football league, NPFL, after they finished as league leaders in the 2016 season before going on to win the NNL Super 4 competition, a result that catapulted them to the apex league in the country.
Known for his forthrightness, admired for his doggedness, and respected for his residence, Dan Arewa as his fans fondly call him is the best man for the new appointment.
