Basketmouth Urges Nigerians Not To Die For Country

Prominent Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has warned patriotic Nigerians not to sacrifice their lives for the country.

This was disclosed in a message posted via his official Instagram Story, emphasizing that personal survival matters more than becoming a short-lived trending topic on social media.

He noted that people who die for Nigeria are often remembered briefly before the internet moves on to the next issue.

“Whatever you do in this life, don’t die for Nigeria. You’re more valuable alive than as a trending hashtag. A trending hashtag that might possibly last a few days,” he stated.

The comment comes days after the father of three urged people to stay grateful to God, stressing that waking up healthy every morning is a blessing that should never be taken for granted.

The filmmaker recently slammed society for celebrating failure and giving more attention to scandals than genuine achievements.

He accused Nigerian blogs of turning negativity into premium content while excellence struggles to make headlines.

Meanwhile, while some social media users agreed with Basketmouth’s message, others argued that patriotism should not be dismissed despite the country’s challenges.
