BBNaija Needs A Break To Re-Strategise, Says Tacha

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has advised organisers of the reality show to take a break and come up with fresh ideas to sustain viewers’ interest amid the growing influence of social media.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise 360 on Arise News, Tacha noted that the show thrived in an era when social media had a different impact on audiences.

“I think they need to take a break, restrategise and just come up with something because we are really at an era where everything happens on social media,” she said.

According to her, online conversations now rival reality TV for attention, citing the continued public interest in the ongoing family dispute involving music duo P-Square.

“You don’t want us watching housemates in the house, meanwhile P-Square is giving us part seven of his family issues… we have come to a point where everyone is so comfortable with social media right now,” she stated.

Tacha suggested that a temporary pause would make audiences miss the show and create anticipation for its return with a more exciting concept.

“You also give Nigerians a chance to miss you,” she added.

She urged the organisers to reinvent the show with more compelling content that would appeal to Nigerian viewers.

“They need to cook, like they need to try to do something different which will be much more mind-blowing and more interesting to Nigerians because Nigerians are hard to please,” she said.

Tacha gained prominence during the 2019 ‘Pepper Dem’ season of BBNaija before her disqualification following an altercation with fellow housemate Mercy Eke. Since then, she has ventured into entertainment and fashion, worked as a radio host on 96.9 Cool FM and launched Tacha FC in 2024.
