Breaking: Basira Beere Loses Pregnancies To Abuse

Popular Yoruba actress Omoshalewa Yusuf, better known as Basira Beere, has opened up about the breakdown of her marriage for the first time.
Speaking on the Talk to B podcast, the actress accused her ex-husband of physical abuse, emphatically that, she lost four pregnancies as a result of the domestic violence she endured during the marriage.
Basira said she stayed in the marriage longer than she should have because of advice from her parents, noting that their counsel made her hold on even when the situation became unbearable.

The statement added that, “If I explained what happened to my parents, they kept telling me to be patient and endure. Only my siblings who were living with me could attest to what I went through. He beat me over little things to the point that I lost about four pregnancies.”
Reflecting on the early days of the union, she recalled that some friends had warned her against marrying him, saying he was “of a lower calibre” than her.
However, she dismissed their reactions at the time, stressing that, she also came from nothing before fame, adding that she funded about seventy percent of their wedding because she thought she was supporting her man.
According to her, the abuse began just two days after the wedding. “Days after the wedding, a guy texted me to congratulate me on the wedding, and I called him ‘dear,’ and that was when the problem started, It was so tough; he beat me so much that even our landlord tried to intervene, she stated.
