Community Raises Alarm Over Alleged Criminal Activities At Kampala Odo, Olambe, Calls For Urgent Security Intervention
Residents of Olambe in Ogun State have expressed growing concern over what they describe as worsening insecurity around the Kampala Odo area, located beside the Deeper Life Campground in Olambe.
Members of the community are calling for immediate intervention by security agencies, alleging that the area has become a hideout for suspected kidnappers, thieves, internet fraudsters, and other criminal elements.
According to several residents, fear and anxiety have become part of daily life as reports of theft, suspicious movements, and other alleged criminal activities continue to circulate within the community. Many residents say they now avoid passing through the area, particularly at night, due to concerns for their safety.
Community members have also raised disturbing allegations that innocent people may have been attacked or killed in the vicinity, with rumours suggesting that nearby river areas may have been used to conceal evidence of criminal acts.
These claims have not been independently verified, and residents are urging law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the facts.
The community is appealing to the Ogun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, to treat the security concerns as a matter of urgent public importance.
Residents believe that enhanced security measures and closer monitoring of the area would help restore confidence and improve public safety.
A passionate appeal has also been directed to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ajuwon Police Division, urging the command to intensify surveillance, carry out regular raids on suspected criminal hideouts, deploy intelligence officers to monitor the environment, and conduct comprehensive investigations into the allegations being raised by residents.
According to members of the community, sustained police visibility and intelligence-led operations are necessary to identify and apprehend anyone involved in criminal activities while ensuring that innocent residents can go about their daily lives without fear.
Residents further emphasized that security is a shared responsibility and pledged their willingness to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist investigations. They expressed hope that prompt action by the police and the Ogun State Government would restore peace, protect lives and property, and reassure law-abiding citizens.
The people of Olambe are therefore making an urgent appeal for immediate security intervention before the situation deteriorates further.
They believe that proactive surveillance, continuous patrols, intelligence gathering, and lawful enforcement actions will help prevent crime and preserve the safety of the community.
The concerns raised by residents underscore the need for a swift, impartial, and professional investigation by the appropriate authorities to determine the accuracy of the allegations and take appropriate action where necessary.
Meanwhile, the community leaders complain bitterly about the delapitated conditions of the road network of the vicinity/ Olambe as a whole, which encourages grievances of such evil acts and security agencies neglection of the area which shouldn’t be an excuse for lack of due diligence/ effective carrying out of duties as mandated.
