Davido Urges Free Choice For Osun Voters Ahead Of Governorship Poll
Popular Afrobeats star Davido has appealed to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, to allow voters in Osun State to decide freely in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15.
The entertainer stated this in a video which surfaced online, he noted that he has stronger ties to Imo State through his family and asked that politics in Osun be left to the people.
“Allow the people of Osun State to choose their candidate freely. I have deeper connections to Imo State. My wife, Chioma, is from Imo State,” Davido said.

Meanwhile the August 15 Osun governorship election is expected to be keenly contested, with major political parties already mobilizing support across the state.
Davido’s statement comes amid heightened political activity as stakeholders and public figures weigh in on the race.
