Davido’s Anti-APC Remark Resurfaces After Adeleke’s Appointment

A past statement by Nigerian singer, Davido, where he vowed never to support the All Progressives Congress, APC, has resurfaced online following the appointment of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, as coordinator for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in the state.

Governor Adeleke’s appointment has sparked reactions on social media, with many users questioning his decision to align with the Tinubu campaign, despite the political rivalry witnessed during the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Reacting to the development, a user identified as IKEAN wrote: “Yesterday people died for Adeleke while fighting Tinubu APC to win elections. Today Ademola Adeleke, emerges APC Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator in Osun State.”

Similarly, a user identified as Sly commented: “@davido I pity those that loss there live because of your uncle reelection.. there souls will be crying because they died for democracy instead they died for Apc.”

Recall that Davido had openly declared his opposition to the APC ahead of the August 2026 governorship election in Osun, stating: “I can never support APC in my life!”

Following the news of his uncle’s appointment, the singer shared a video of Adeleke dancing and singing on his Instagram Story, without directly addressing the new role.

Governor Adeleke, who was re-elected under the Accord Party, was listed among the state coordinators in President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign structure.
