Falz Advises Against Marriage Before 30, Says 20s Are For Self-Discovery
Popular Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has weighed in on marriage, saying he doesn’t support tying the knot before age 30.
He stated this on a recent episode of The BTS Reality podcast, the 35-year-old said most people are not emotionally, financially, or mentally ready for marriage until they hit their 30s.
According to Falz, the pressure from society and peers shouldn’t push young people into early marriage, and also argued that the 20s should be spent on growth, exploration, and enjoying life, not settling down.

“Getting married in your 30s is the best. Don’t let anyone pressure you into getting married before 30. By your 30s, you have gained more life experiences. In your 20s, you are still figuring yourself out. Your 20s are for learning, growing, and enjoying life,” he said.
The Bop Daddy crooner added that it is in one’s 30s that people are able to channel everything they’ve learned into building a more directed life.
“In your 30s, you combine all the knowledge and try to direct your life. So, it is better to wait till your 30s before getting married,” he stated.
Meanwhile, his comments have triggered reactions on the social media and public space, with many agreeing while others argued that readiness for marriage depends on the individual, not age.
