Funke Akindele Returns With Powerful New Drama

Funke Akindele is set for another big screen moment with her upcoming film, The Four: No One Fights Alone.
The movie drops in cinemas worldwide on December 11, 2026. It is produced under FAAN TV and will be distributed exclusively by FilmOne Entertainment.
This time, Akindele is telling a story about sisterhood and strength. Described as an emotional drama, The Four centers on Esosa and three other women whose loyalty to a young man they love pushes them to their limits.

Set between the calm of the Odu community and the fast pace of the city, the film explores friendship, motherhood, resilience, and how ordinary women carry extraordinary weight.
True to her style, Akindele weaves in Nigerian culture through music, fashion, language, and tradition, while delivering a story built on sacrifice and hope.
The cast is stacked. Joining Akindele are Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan, and Wunmi Toriola.
Music and entertainment also get a spotlight with Waje, Shoday, Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho, and Ayomide Iwasokun appearing in the film.
Speaking about the project, Akindele said audiences have grown with her and keep looking for stories that reflect them.
“The Four explores complex relationships that shape, challenge, and remain with us,” she said, adding that she believes viewers will see themselves in the story.
The film adds to Akindele’s long list of box office wins including Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa, and Behind The Scenes titles that have made her Nigeria’s highest-grossing filmmaker.
