IDI-OYI/IMOKE RESIDENTS ACCUSE BAALE OF BETRAYAL

YUSUF MUHAMMED

The residents of Idi-Oyin/Imoke community are accusing their Baale, Chief Saheed Omotayo Adeboye for compromising and thereby delaying the progress of work in the removal of a long thick concrete fence on Idi-Oyin/Imoke road, blocking the free flow of flood that has made the community inhabitable over the years.

Idi-Olin/Imoke is a small town in Ibeju Lekki local government area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, headed by the Baale, Chief Omotayo Saheed Adeboye.

About two years ago, some people in Ajah community were relocated by the Lagos State Government to Idi-Oyin/Imoke land to resettle but thereafter the Ajah community people erected a long thick concrete fence on the Idi-Oyin/Imoke road, blocking the flow of flood that has made the community inhabitable. But later, the Ministry of Physical Planning & Urban Resources intervened and it was resolved that palliative measures should be put in place for the flow of water to be effective, but its believed that the Baale has compromised by allegedly collecting a huge amount of money from the Ajah community and that is why work has not been at full speed.

Residents of the community are aggrieved that the Baale could be insensitive to their plight because the rains is really affecting lives and property.

The people of Idi-Oyin/Imoke, Orubon Araromi are thereby calling on the Lagos State Government to plead with Baale Omotayo Saheed Adeboye to let work progress and for peace to reign in the land.
