Iran Accuses US Of ‘Reckless Military Adventure’

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has accused the US of choosing a “reckless military adventure” while a “diplomatic solution is on the table”.

In a post on X, Araghchi stated that Iranians would “never bow to pressure” despite accusations of strikes in the Strait of Hormuz and US firing on Iranian vessels.”Is it a crude pressure tactic?” his Iranian counterpart inquired. “Or the result of a spoiler once again duping POTUS [President Donald Trump] into another quagmire?”

Despite the fighting, Trump stated that the ceasefire remained intact. It is intended to facilitate talks to terminate the war that the United States and Israel began in February.

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio predicts Iran will react to US offers on Friday.”I really hope it is a serious offer,” Rubio remarked during a visit to Italy.

Iran has controlled the Strait of Hormuz and attacked United States allies in the Gulf in response to United States and Israeli attacks. Around 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas are transported across the critical canal, which has been blocked, sending prices rising.

Early this week, Trump launched – and then stopped – a United States military operation to assist in the release of some 2,000 vessels that have been stranded there since February.

The United States is also continuing a naval blockade of Iranian ports in order to put pressure on Tehran to accept its requirements, which has enraged Tehran.

On Friday, US Central Command (Centcom) said that its forces had damaged two Iranian-flagged unladen oil tankers attempting to dock at an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman “in violation of the ongoing US blockade”.

United States military had shot “precision munitions into their smokestacks, preventing non-compliant ships from entering Iran,” according to the statement.

The fresh strike comes after Thursday’s confrontations in the Strait of Hormuz, which both sides blamed on each other.

Centcom accused Iran of launching missiles, drones, and small boats at three of its warships in a “unprovoked attack”.

Iran’s senior military command, meanwhile, claimed that the United States attacked an Iranian oil ship and another vessel nearing the Strait of Hormuz and carried out “aerial attacks” on multiple coastal sites.

According to Mohammad Radmehr, an official from southern Hormozgan province, one of the cargo vessels attacked near Minab caught fire.Ten injured sailors have been brought to hospitals, and local groups and search teams are attempting to determine the whereabouts of the remaining servicemen,” Radmehr told Iranian state news agency Mehr.

President Donald Trump posted to Truth Social overnight that the United States had destroyed multiple small boats, missiles and drones, adding that “great damage” was”done to the Iranian attackers”.

“Just like we knocked them out again today, we’ll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently, in the future, if they don’t get their Deal signed, FAST!”
