The king of fuji music, Wasiu Olasunkanmi Marshal K1, on Monday, distanced himself from comments made by one of his aides on a radio program.
The aide reportedly granted an interview to the BBC Yoruba service on the face-off between the fuji maestro and a broadcaster, Wole Sorunke (MC Murphy), on Sunday, where he made disparaging statements against the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria, FIBAN.
K1 said the utterances of the aide during the interview does not in any way, represent his views, mindset or that of his organisation.
“K1 did not in anyway authorize such utterances. K1 wishes to distance himself from the verbal abuse of FIBAN. K1 also wishes to reiterate his respect and partnership with FIBAN and indeed all media practitioners, many of whom are his close friends,” a statement signed by K1’s media handler, Kunle Rasheed reads.
