Muslim and Christian leaders are the enemy of religion —Imam Moshood Olanrewaju

Imam Moshood Olanrewaju Mamudu, the Chief Missionary of Al-Istijab Society of Nigeria and Chief Imam of Raji Elewe Mosque, Lagos Island, has criticized religious leaders in the country.

Imam Moshood, while reacting to the sack of the former Chief Imam of the National Assembly Legislative Quarters Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Nuru Khalid, said the termination of the cleric’s appointment was a wrong move.

A few days after the Abuja Imam was suspended, following his sermon that criticized the current government over inability to tackle the security situation, he was finally sacked on Monday.

Imam Moshood therefore told Newscarte that “no one or any Government has the right or authority to sanction an Imam from his post simply because of his sermon, because whatever they say comes from Almighty Allah, who the Imam is representing as a messenger.

“Those who have the right to sanction an Imam are the council of Islam, and the Imam must have said something wrong in Islam before such action can be taken against him.

“But nowadays, both Muslim and Christian leaders are the enemy of religion because they worship money and as a result can’t say the truth to the world. Meanwhile, they forget that once you stand on the truth of Almighty Allah, Allah will continue to bless you. That is why God has blessed the sacked Imam with a better job,” Imam Moshood said.
